The Abacus

I taught a computer class and in the history of computer we discussed the Abacus as one of the first simple computers.  If you consider the definition of a computer as a device that processes input and generates output, then you can see what I mean.

I bought an abacus from EBay.  You can get anything from Ebay.  And while I know how to use it, I wanted a simple way to explain it here.  What I found was a Think Quest competition where two young men put together a very nice web site all about  Abaci. At least that's what they say is the plural of abacus.
