Dots And Boxes
This is the computerized version of the old classic. Play commences on a square board.
- press:
- Ctrl + N for a new game
- Ctrl + V to play another human
- Ctrl + I to increase the number of sides (or dots on the board) Choosing 9 will give you the standard 100 dot board
- Then Alt, spacebar, X Or (maximize the window) to make it
easier to play
Or you can do it the sissy way and use your mouse and the menu bar
You and your opponent take turns to join up two dots with a line.
If any player fills a box, he must take another turn. The winner is the person who has the most boxes once all the lines have been drawn.
One simple strategy you should be aware of is the double crossing move. Take all the boxes in a long chain except the last two. Let the opponent take these and he must give you more boxes with his extra move.
The computer is quite good, so it is best to play with another human. Besides I think the computer cheats. I just haven't been able to catch him at it. Have fun
