Screensavers

While looking for free games I came across a bunch of free screensavers.  When I first started playing around with computers I really collected a lot of screensavers and desktop themes.  It was a lot easier with windows 95 and 98.

But since then, both screensavers and desktop themes have become a favorite spot for adware creeps. and trojans.  It's not even safe to go looking for them these days, something  we were reminded of last July when my family wanted a fireworks screensaver for the 4th.

Anyway  I found a few safe places and as I find them I'll post them here.

I took down the original  link I had here just in case.  Right around the time I was looking for games and screensavers I got my last trojan.  Now I will admit, I look for most of this stuff on my laptop and my desktop was the computer infected, but I don't want you to take any chances.

However  there is still a place you can get spyware free stuff.  Download.com which is sponsered by CNET is safe.  all their programs aren't free, but I think that makes them more discriminating.  Microsoft also has a few themes and screensavers available, but not many.  The Christmas 2004 one is especially well made

I haven't looked for Mac savers yet.  I'm still working on the ones that come with the computer.
