What a mess I had on my computer !

There are lots of nasty buggers out there.  Many more than when I started learning how to get rid of them, which was only about 3 years ago.  Just recently, my computer got infected by something called virtumondo and outerinfo and something called rabo, I think.  It was a mess and all my experience from the past still couldn't kill the snots.  I ended up at the expert forums.  I think this is all these poor guys do.  And of course all my efforts and tinkering made it worse.  

I am putting links to some newer programs that these guys told me about and some more information on what you need to do before you ask these guys for help.

Always always always keep Windows updated.  In the control panel on XP there is an icon for security.  When you open that it shows you the status of your windows firewall and also your updates.  If you choose not to do automated updates, you better remember to update windows frequently.

Also apparently and frankly this was something I didn't know, my version of Java runtime had expired.  Here is a link to Spybot forums post "How did I get infected in the first place"   It talks all about  things to look for and do  This is also the forum I used to get help with my problems.  It's a good place.  Just make sure you read the Before you post thread".
